Tattootime Magazine Tattoo Magic (Winter 1983) The Dragon

In 1982, legendary tattooer Don Ed Hardy, AKA Ed Hardy, together with Ernie Carafa, began publishing Tattootime, a magazine about the world of tattoos. The magazine would end up having only five issues in total: New Tribalism (1982), Tattoo Magic (1983), Music & Sea Tattoos (1985), Life & Death Tattoos (1987), and Art from the Heart (1991). However, with thought-provoking articles containing information about the history of tattooing, photographs of tattoos and flash, artist highlights, deep dives into styles and motifs, and more, Tattootime has understandably had a lasting impact on the tattoo community.

This article, titled The Dragon, was written by Ed Hardy and details the history and popularity of dragons as a tattoo motif. This article was published in the Winter 1983 issue, Tattoo Magic.
